This has been a gorgeous summer for weddings, with spectacular weather for months. Unfortunately on Laura and Sean’s wedding day, the dry spell ended, but that did not ruin their day at all. Every couple must have a plan B, or in their case, a plan C.
Laura and Sean’s wedding at the White House Lodge in Webster Park was set to have the ceremony outside on the lawn overlooking Lake Ontario. Then it started to sprinkle. But of course they had a tent for this. Then it started to pour, and the backup spot under the tent was washed out with a foot of water! So everyone huddled inside the lodge for a cozy and intimate ceremony. In the end, it looked very romantic in front of the natural stone fireplace. Laura and Sean were so happy that day, a little rain wasn’t going to put a damper on the day they had been planning for months and months. I don’t think I have photographed a bride with a bigger smile than Laura. My favorite part of the ceremony was her huge burst of laughter after she got lipstick on Sean following their first kiss.
At the end of the ceremony, the weather broke, the rain trickled away off the lake and a rainbow stretched across the sky as a sign of good luck for Laura and Sean. The rest of the evening went off without a hitch with some amazing formals down by the pier. A special thanks also goes out to Ivy, the mother of the bride, for keeping everyone calm and for keeping the party going. I know everyone had a great time, rain or shine.
