Friends and family of Sara and Fabian trekked the globe to reach Becker Farms in Gasport, NY where they joined the couple for their wedding. The festivities started with the rehearsal dinner at Cooke’s Creekview Bed & Breakfast where they also celebrated Fabian’s 30th birthday. That night gave us a chance to meet, talk and snap some casual twilight portraits with the soon to be bride and groom.

The next morning, Sara and her bridesmaids started getting ready at Cooke’s Creekview with Jenny from Salon a Go Go doing an amazing job with hair and makeup. All the bridesmaids were looking beautiful, but did I mention how gorgeous Sara looked in her dress? Right outside the patio of Cooke’s, I captured some lovely portraits with Sara’s parents as well, even though Dad’s coat was just a little too tight to button up!

Fabian and the guys were getting ready at a cozy farmhouse with his parents and mates on the Becker Farms property. My second photographer, Alan Presutti photographed some great details and a captured a couple shots of Fabian’s groomsmen tickling the ivories at the piano.

First looks seem to be very popular lately and Sara and Fabian were on board despite the sprinkles of rain. But the soft drizzle added just the right ambience to create some very dreamy first look photographs. Then the guests started to arrive and we had to hide Sara before the ceremony started.

Immediately following the ceremony, we had a chance for some romantic portraits with Sara and Fabian in the barn across the road from the farm. Soft, moody lighting accentuated the couple beautifully. This time away from the rest of the wedding party gave the bride and groom a chance to breathe and enjoy each other’s company before going back to the party.

The reception took place in an outside patio at Becker Farms on that cool, summer night. Fabian’s best man speech was very memorable where he revealed Fabian’s love for board games and an even greater love for winning them! Their cake also showcased Fabian’s passion with game pieces as details.

The biggest highlight of the night was watching the extremely charismatic mother/son dance to the tune of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. The dancing continued into the night, as folks were still out on the dance floor when we left the party. Congratulations to you both!

Shawna and Richard’s wedding at the Kirby family farm was quaint, but bursting with love and laughter throughout the entire day. There was a relaxed feeling to the day and this was due mostly to Richard and Shawna’s easy going attitude. From the moment I met them at their engagement session, I could tell that we would get along like old friends. Speaking of old friends, it was my neighbor, Jason Trzeciak, who works with Richard and referred them to me. So a big shout out to Jason, I owe you a beer buddy.

We started off the day with photos of the couple each getting ready. My second photographer, Alan Presutti, worked with the guys at a cottage near Lake Ontario. He captured some nice details, including a viewfinder given to Richard as a wedding present by Shawna, which had some personalized photos for Richard to enjoy. I was off with the girls at Adam and Kelly Kirby’s house, which had some amazing natural light. The girls were looking spectacular with their hair and makeup done by Nikki from Gallery Salon. It was an emotional time for Shawna with a lot of laughter and tears of joy, which is understandable with all her best girls and mother there to support her. Next, we arrived at the Kirby family farm for the ceremony and reception.

Before the ceremony, Shawna had a sweet moment with her father at their first look. They both drove up to the ceremony in a rusty old truck with the Kirby Farms logo emblazoned on it. The ceremony site was in an open field, surrounded by trees and the guests were seated on hay bails. After they both read their vows and sealed the ceremony with a kiss, we had just enough time to get some formals in before a torrential downpour! Just as we stepped under the tent back by the house, the rain came down. But after Shawna and Richard’s first dance, the skies broke with a rainbow stretching across the farm which created a beautiful portrait of the couple for some extra good luck.

Everyone had a great time that day with the help of the awesome vendors. Duke’s Donuts rocked my world with a melt in your mouth pastry. Ugly Duck Coffee was also on hand to provide the perfect after dinner pick me up. The officiant, Patrick, was taken by surprise, when Richard brought out a birthday cake for him.

The rest of the night was filled with dancing and some fantastic sunset photos. Such a pleasure spending the day with you Shawna and Richard, congratulations to you both!

Joshua and Lia’s wedding at St. Joseph’s Park was definitely the most unique wedding I have photographed in a while. Every wedding is unique in its own way, but this one had some stellar details, particularly the bride’s dress, the groom’s suit and especially the custom rings! Joshua and Lia were so easy going and made the day seem like hanging out with friends rather than work.

We started everything right off with bride and groom formals at the Sunken Gardens at Highland Park. Formals before the ceremony can be a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera plus it leaves time later for the couple to stay with their guests and party. Joshua and Lia had a relaxed session and then headed over to St. Joseph’s Park for the ceremony.

The rain managed to hold off for Joshua and Lia’s ceremony, which is quite a surprise given the amount of rain this summer. It was my first time photographing a wedding at St. Joseph’s Park and I instantly fell in love with this venue. The openness and gorgeous stonework make this “church” worth preserving by the Landmark Society. I highly suggest anyone who wants an outdoor wedding in the city of Rochester to check this place out.

Another one of the more unique things Joshua and Lia did was to walk the processional together! I loved this aspect of the pre-ceremony. The ceremony itself was short, but stacked with more details. The handwritten vows by both bride and groom were heartfelt and beautifully written. The unity ceremony with glass was a nice touch, using a different medium than the usual pouring of sand. Something I have not seen before. After sealing the ceremony with a kiss, we were off to the reception.

The reception took place at Good Luck restaurant. Joshua, Lia and their guests were tucked into a cozy room with some nice window light. Luckily we arrived just before it started pouring, but unfortunate for some of the latecomers who got a bit drenched! Even though this was a half day wedding for me, there were so many nice touches and we had an amazing time. Congratulations to you both!

Kyle and Kate’s wedding at the Buffalo History Museum started off with a POP at the Buffalo Marriot Harborcenter as Kate’s Matron of Honor, Natalie opened a bottle of champagne which proceeded to spray all over the room! With the 80s music pumping and the girls having a great time getting ready, I knew right then this was going to be a fun wedding. Kate looked stunning in her wedding gown, with its simple but elegant cut and intricate pattern. Then her mom joined us to take a peek and give her daughter one last hug before walking down the aisle.

The ceremony took place at St. Michael’s Church in Buffalo, NY and the weather thankfully stayed dry, definitely the best day all Spring. After a full mass, we headed to the Buffalo History Museum for the reception and utilized Delaware Park for some bride and groom formals. This was my first time photographing a wedding at the BHM and the architecture, atmosphere, and staff did not disappoint. My second photographer for the day, Michael Fisher did a great job capturing some candid moments with Kyle and Kate’s friends.

Kate’s MOH gave a wonderful speech which included handing down some sentimental items to her. Kyle’s brother Ryan kept it short and sweet and then the party began. One of the highlights was Kate’s “neighborhood Grandma” tearing it up on the dance floor!

This was such a beautiful day and a great way to start out the 2017 wedding season.
Congratulations to you both!

Reconnecting with old friends is always fun, so when Jon and Jana contacted me to discuss their wedding at the Wadsworth Homestead, I was overjoyed! He was part of the skateboarding crew I grew up with, and I knew that being a part of his wedding would be less like work and more like a reunion with some familiar faces. Plus, Jana is such a sweetheart. It was easy working with her and her bridesmaids, but don’t be fooled, she also knows how to party!
We started the day with Jana upstairs in a gorgeous suite inside the bed and breakfast. The Wadsworth Homestead is a well preserved Bed and Breakfast in Geneseo, NY. Each room has an elegance that complimented the bridal party’s beauty in their stunning dresses. After the girls were done with hair and makeup and Jana was in her dress, we headed outside behind the house for her first look with Jon, as her bridesmaids and flower girls looked on. You may have noticed a surprise guest, Jon and Jana’s dog Dixie made some appearances in the formal pictures too!
As the clouds rolled through the Geneseo countryside, guests watched the rain safely under the Wadsworth porch. The tall white columns of the porch protected everyone from the storm and gave us a nice backdrop for the intimate ceremony.
Jon & Jana had some interesting details for the reception. They had wine barrels for guests to sign and lottery ticket place settings, which added a nice touch to an already gorgeous table setting. Almost hidden behind the tent was a Smores bar with a fire to roast the marshmallows to perfection! The couple had a wonderful first dance, as well as some nice father/daughter and mother/son dances. The rest of the night was spent tearing it up on the dance floor thanks to DJ Naps who was an amazing guy to work with!
They rounded out the reception with a sky lantern send off. I am so glad I was able to share this day with this fun couple and our great friends.
